The drive from Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) to Mirissa is roughly 200 km. Taking the Outer Circular Highway onto the Southern Expressway keeps it at around two hours fifty minutes — far quicker and calmer than the old Galle Road.

How much is a taxi from Mirissa to Colombo airport?
A private transfer from Mirissa to Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) starts at USD 65 (about LKR 21,000) in a Toyota Axio. That is the total for the car — fuel, expressway tolls, driver and taxes are all included. A Honda Fit Shuttle is $68, a Prius $70, a premium sedan $90, and a KDH van for up to nine passengers is $95.
How long does the drive from Mirissa or Weligama to the airport take?
Between 2 hours 45 minutes and 3 hours 15 minutes using the Southern Expressway (E01) and the Outer Circular Highway, depending on traffic around Colombo. For a departing flight we recommend leaving five hours before take-off.
Will the driver meet me inside the airport?
Yes, at no extra charge. Your driver waits at the arrivals exit holding a board with your name. Give us your flight number when you book so we can track your landing time — if you are early or delayed, the driver adjusts.
Do you operate at night and in the early morning?
We run 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Midnight and pre-dawn airport departures from Mirissa, Weligama, Midigama and Ahangama are very common, and there is no night surcharge.
How do I pay, and do you need a deposit?
No deposit for standard airport transfers. Pay the driver in cash at the end of the journey in Sri Lankan rupees, US dollars, euros or pounds. For multi-day tours a bank transfer can be arranged in advance.
How much luggage fits in a sedan?
A Toyota Axio or Prius takes two large suitcases plus hand luggage for three passengers. The Honda Fit Shuttle takes three large bags for up to four passengers. Travelling with surfboards, golf clubs or four or more suitcases? Ask for the KDH van — it takes seven large bags and has board racks.
Do you have child seats?
Yes. Baby and booster seats are available free of charge — please request one when you book so we can fit it before pick-up.
Do your drivers speak English?
Our drivers speak conversational English. If you need a specific language, mention it on WhatsApp and we will do our best to assign a suitable driver.
Can I hire a car and driver for several days?
Yes — one of the most popular ways to see Sri Lanka. You keep the same car and driver for the whole trip. Day rates start at around $80 per day including fuel for reasonable distances. Send your dates and rough plan for a fixed quote.
What if I need to cancel or change my booking?
Free cancellation up to six hours before pick-up, and changes to your time or destination are no problem — just message us on WhatsApp. Since nothing is prepaid, there is nothing to refund.
